Beacon Behavioral, LLC offers inpatient psychiatric care to adults and seniors with acute mental health needs. Our inpatient program is designed to provide short-term, acute treatment for adults and seniors suffering from depression and other mood-disorders, psychosis, suicidal preoccupation, major decline in functioning, and behavioral changes due to a mental illness.
Beacon Behavioral, LLC has 5 inpatient hospitals located throughout Louisiana to best meet the needs of our communities. Each facility is staffed with a multidisciplinary treatment team including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurse practitioners, registered nurses, behavioral health technicians, licensed mental health therapists, and recreational therapists.
Clinical services include:
- Stabilization of acute crisis conditions
- Multidisciplinary treatment team
- Medication evaluation and management for physical and behavioral health needs

Beacon Behavioral, LLC – Lacombe
Beacon Behavioral, LLC — Lacombe is a 22 bed, adult and geriatric acute care unit (ages 50+). The unit is divided into two different therapeutic programs based on medical needs and acuity of behavioral health symptoms.
Program 1:
Adults/seniors that require more clinical observation based on higher acuity of behavioral health symptoms and/or medical needs (ex. patients suffering with psychosis, risk of aggressive behaviors, and/or dementia).
Program 2:
Adults/seniors that require less clinical observation based on their lower acuity or improved acute behavioral health symptoms (ex. patients suffering from depression, anxiety, and/or psychosis but without high risk of harm to themselves or to others and are independent with daily living activities).
Programs are divided into separate schedules including:
- Social service therapy groups
- Activity therapy groups
- Nursing educational groups
- Separated dining times
- Separate day area with activities, TV, phone, and seating
- Pet therapy
- IV hydration
- Maintaining movement program
- Reading nook
Beacon Behavioral, LLC – New Orleans
Beacon Behavioral, LLC – New Orleans is a 34-bed psychiatric hospital for adults, ages 18 and older. Our hospital offers specialized treatment for mental health symptoms.
Programming Includes:
- Social service therapy groups
- Nursing educational groups
- Daily sessions with psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner
- Activity therapy groups (including art therapy, music therapy, and recreational therapy)
- Personal goals group
- Private patient rooms

Beacon Behavioral, LLC – Lutcher is a 24-bed psychiatric hospital for adults, ages 18 and older. Our hospital offers specialized treatment for mental health symptoms.
Programming Includes:
- Social service therapy groups which includes individual, group and family therapy
- Nursing educational groups and medication management
- Daily sessions with psychiatrist or psychiatric nurse practitioner
- Activity therapy groups (including art therapy, music therapy, and recreational therapy)
- Personal goals group
- Private patient rooms
- Nonsmoking facility
- Scheduled outdoor times
- Enhanced patient safety observation through ObservSMART monitoring system
- Psychological testing if needed
- Dietary consults if needed
- Large dayroom with television and seating
- Quiet nook with telephone available
Beacon Behavioral, LLC – Bunkie
Beacon Behavioral – Bunkie is a 24-bed psychiatric hospital for adults, ages 18 and older. Our hospital offers specialized treatment for mental health symptoms.
Program features include:
- Daily sessions with psychiatrist or mental health nurse practitioner, including medication management
- Individual assessments and counseling with a licensed social worker/counselor
- Social service therapy groups
- Individual assessments and daily activity therapy groups with a CTRS (including art therapy, music therapy, and recreational therapy)
- Personal goals group
- Daily nursing educational groups
- Assessment and management of medical conditions by a Medical Doctor
- Discharge planning for continuation of care; ie. outpatient counseling, medication management
- Double occupancy patient rooms
- Smoking facility (in designated outside area)
- Fenced courtyard for outside recreation
- Multiple dayrooms, with televisions and various activity supplies for downtime and peer interaction
Other assessments and treatments available include:
- Medical detoxification from drugs and alcohol
- Dietary consults and education with a registered dietitian
- Psychological testing
- Physical/occupational/speech therapy consults if needed
- Respiratory therapy consults if needed
We can accommodate patients on CPAP at night, but unfortunately, we cannot take anyone on continuous oxygen.

Beacon Behavioral, LLC – Westbank is a 24-bed psychiatric hospital for adults, ages 18 and older. Our hospital offers specialized treatment for mental health symptoms.
